How we handle your information

How we handle your information

This statement mainly applies to the Memory Anchors mobile app. It also applies to personal information you provide through our website, such as a contact-form message or a book order.

Effective: 7 October 2026

What we collect

In the app, we collect the name and email you use to create an account; the anchors you write, dates, optional photos and information you choose to include; Spaces, invitations and content you choose to share; subscription and entitlement information; and technical information needed to run and secure the service.

On the website, we collect information you provide through a contact form or book order, such as your name, email address, delivery details and order information.

If you subscribe through Apple’s App Store, Apple processes your payment. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

How we use information

We use information to provide and support Memory Anchors, operate the sharing features you choose, provide subscriptions, fulfil book orders, respond to enquiries, send essential account and security messages, protect the service and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information or memory content.

Sharing

Your memories are private unless you choose to add them to a Space. Other members of that Space can see the content you add and may retain what they have seen, including by taking a screenshot.

We share information only where needed to run Memory Anchors. This includes trusted providers of hosting, storage, authentication, email, subscriptions and book fulfilment; Apple for App Store subscriptions; and authorities or advisers where required or permitted by law. Some providers may process information outside New Zealand.

Keeping and deleting information

We keep personal information only for as long as needed to provide the service, fulfil an order, resolve issues, meet legal obligations or protect the service.

If you delete content or close your account, we remove it from the live Memory Anchors service promptly. Limited information may remain in protected backups and system logs until they expire. We keep only the minimum records needed for legal, accounting, security or dispute purposes.

Your privacy rights

You can ask us for access to personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information that is wrong. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

For privacy questions or requests, contact privacy@memoryanchors.co.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Changes

We may update this statement as Memory Anchors changes or as required by law. The current version will always be available at memoryanchors.co/privacy.
